Another Edition of BTW Bead Table Wednesday!
I have been experimenting, throwing a little science into my life and around the studio! I have officially discovered that Miss Ficklemedia's awesome verdigris patina does NOT work well on Vintage keys! Honestly, I did not really believe it would, but I had to try it for myself! lol Oh well, it would have been cool. I do love the few little pieces I have managed to get it to work on. I still need to polish and protect, but I am still pondering doing a couple more pieces before I do that part. Fun! I can't wait to try them out in some new Jewelry!
Here is a messy Closeup of my work! lol I also tried some blue, I have others I want to try, but I started with the patinas that were the easiest. Now as long as I did everything correctly, according to Shannon's Incredible tutorial, they should keep their lovely patina and become small works of Art!
So here is a broader view of my small disaster, I have so many thing running through my head at one time I sometimes create chaos just because I can not decide what to do first! Wire work, patinas, metal work, stamping, beading, my pendants and charms, more jewelry, handmade clasps, even more jewelry, shopping, blogging, networking, facebook, bnrs, I am forever thinking of the amazing things that I can do and always have a hard time deciding! I need to be more organized, but living in the moment sometimes helps me create some fabulous and fun pieces that are totally unexpected!
Thanks for stopping in again and I can't wait to read your lovely comments!

Looking foward to see what you come up with............Suzanne
Your desk looks similar to mine! (different items of course but the same style of organization)
Love those patinas - especially the blue!
I love seeing what you're working on! Is the patina stuff terribly smelly? Don't strive for too much organization--all the artists I know create best in at least slight chaos! Yours doesn't even look chaotic--just full of possibilities you might not even see if you put everything in tackleboxes or something. (My hubby "organized" my stuff for me and I can't find anything! He is very left-brain, and he meant well.) Thanks for continuing to share your process and your works of art. I need to get busy making stuff and blogging! Joani
That's funny, the mix of what to do next in your head. My head is like that too. I have so many options right now I am allowing myself a slow couple of days to see what I want to do next. It's gotta be good with all that stuff up there. lol
Creative overload and chaos are good for the soul :)
I liiiiiike your table today!
i love your patina bits they look great..
and your table, is it from IKEA?
i keep thinking the solution to my over crowded work space is a second table.
Your patinas look wonderful? Is it a multi step process? Is the problem that it is not staying on the pieces? I purchased a paste that seems to work. I have only done a few pieces.....your blog reminds me that is one thing I need to work a little more on.....I bet all artisans feel just like you do....too many things going on in the head....oh, heavens, all the ideas..and there is only one of ME!!!!
Your work is wonderful!!!!
I love working with Shannon's patinas, a little messy but so worth it. Your pieces look great!
Most vintage keys are steel, which rusts under the traditional patinas (page 3 in the tutorial), however you could heat the key and apply one of the others (dye oxides or universals) for a wash of color.
