Using what you have

It's amazing the beads we accumulate in little piles as we create our projects. Leftovers as some might call them and sometimes they just sit there...
Well it was my turn to just sit there the other day and I decided there had to be be something I could make out of of a few of the beads just sitting there. So I decided to take out a couple things I have had for a long time and use them.
Now I am a longtime fan of Summers Studio. LeAnn Weih is an incredible woman and artist and also one of the first two artists I have ever bought from on Etsy. These focals are from her. She has not made them in awhile, so it was fun to take a couple out and make something special. It's simple really, I just found whatever I thought would compliment the focals out of the little piles of beads sitting on plates and added them together. I think the necklaces were a hit and they make me smile, so I guess that is all a girl can ask for!
This one is so rich and earthy. I love the tribal feel and the browns that come out in so many shades. All these beads came out of the little dishes of treasures I had sitting there. I may have to try this technique again, I think it worked well :)
I am glad to still be able to work and create. My fingers are starting to hurt from the treatment again today, so I don't know how much I will get done this week. I just may push through and just suck it up. It seems to be the one thing that makes me happy right now, and who would want to give that up!!

Thanks for always stopping by and saying hello! I would love to read your comments today!

Marie

Wow, those are GORGEOUS!!! I especially love the second one, wonderful colors, and I love how the focal has two tiers with the ring. You should do this more often--I want to see what else you're hiding!

Marie, these are GORGEOUS -- very Bohemian. I especially love the one with the warm, Earthy palette. :)

Love both of these - especially the colors in the second one! Mostly I love it that you are able to create & are happy when you are doing so! I hope & pray that the pain stays away.

Marie, I have SO many "leftovers" that I was just thinking this week that I really need to do something with them, or get rid of them! Thank you for the inspiration! It just takes more effort to pull leftover beads together, but as you have shown us, it can be well worth the extra effort. The blue necklace is gorgeous!

They are both incredibly gorgeous! I have also been inspired by you!
I have been working on my own studio cleanup. Hopefully some amazing thing will come out of my pile of "do it later" boxes. ;)

Again, really beautiful pieces! Thanks for the inspiration!

These are both just lovely, Marie!

Regarding "leftovers"... I have a mug I bought from Natalie Pappas I used for dropping my ones and twos beads in that are left over from projects when I'm too tired to figure out where the others in the set are. (These are sometimes beads that have rolled away during a project and I find them later!) I often make bracelets using the wide variety of beads that end up there!

It looks like you actually managed to find coordinating ones in your group!

How lovely Marie! What a great idea, Lord knows I have piles of beads sitting on my desk waiting to be put away!! They are both beautiful, but I could see myself wearing the blue one with a comfy pair of jeans and t-shirt (just how I'd like to spend each and every day!) with that one!

Sending positive thoughts your way!
