Revisiting Last Christmas...

I was just remembering last year's markets and how well we did. I was also thinking about some of my favorite pieces and how I wish I could get more of the wonderful components I used. It had been really wonderful to work at something I love so much.
I love all the wonderful techniques I have learned and the things I have experimented with. I have made some wonderful friends and discovered some amazing bead artisans.
I need to revisit some of these designs, they sold so fast I hardly got to enjoy them! You know how it is with certain pieces are have a particular fondness for...
I do however need to take a break. This Christmas season has been particularly hard for sales and I am exhausted! I can not go on like this without having a little brain break! Not sure yet how things will go, but we all need to slow down once in awhile!

I am not leaving, I will still be around.
Look and you will find me ;)

I definitely know that feeling of not wanting to let go of something AND wanting more of a particular bead!! I had this amazing fossil my sister got me for Christmas last year. I put it in a necklace and had made a setting for it using a filigree, and sold it thinking I could get more as she'd gotten them from a boutique store in CA and said she could...Needless to say, I didn't realize the size and quality were rather unusual, and I've spent a year trying to find more - unsuccessfully. The real bummer was I fronted the necklace to an aquaintance and she never paid me for it!! But she did come to my last trunk show and bought several pairs of earrings, so I'm on my way to forgiving her, but it would be much easier to get over it if I could just find another one of those fossils for myself!!! I loved that one a lot. Anyway, gorgeous work, you inspire me a lot Marie!! Enjoy your Christmas...I'm also hoping I can find time to take a break and slow down at some point! Most people don't understand how much time we spend - not just making jewelry, but photographing, updating websites, pricing, shopping for supplies, doing our own taxes (yikes!) and all the other very time consuming things we often don't charge for in our businesses, so you definitely owe it to yourself to take some time off when you're able!

I totally agree with all that Jessica said. Jewelry making is more than just the putting together of jewelry! And you know that more than anybody! I hope you are able to slow down a little and enjoy the season. That last bracelet with the pink peonies...oh my word, I love that tile!! :-)

Enjoy your rest, sweet Marie :) You have well earned it. Your pieces never fail to make me ooh and ahh. I love everything that comes from those nimble fingers of yours. That green with the Eiffel Tower tile is my favorite from this bunch :) Enjoy your rest and I look forward to seeing your new work when you do come back to it <3
