Copper Pearls

This yummy necklace is one of the most gorgeous things I have ever made. In my eyes anyways. I love these copper pearls and wrapped with the brass wire from Vintaj, well you see it for yourself. I wore it to the "beach" by our house and right away I got a ton of compliments on it. I think if I was willing to sell it I could have. I am just not sure if I want to...yet.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Yes that's right, it is my Birthday. I am not shy about my age, I am 34 today. I feel like I have lived a decent life so far and look forward to doing a whole lot more living this year. I have accomplished quite a few of the things I hoped to accomplish. I am married, I have 4 beautiful children, I own my own home {or part of it} I have my own business and my life long goal to be published is going to finally come true in October. I need to make new goals now. Give me some suggestions...
True Love... Lampwork beads. I can not get enough of them and when I have a bigger budget I will be getting a whole lot more. {hear that Sue?} lol. These are not anywhere near the quality of Sue's Beads, they are just some cheapies that I got from a seller in Florida. That does not mar the prettiness of the beads however and I get to enjoy them even more since I can afford to buy more.

I mixed Lampwork with copper, pink marble, Red Aventurine and Australian Jade on the first bracelet. The second has the pink Marble again, light purple and dark green pearls as well as some little black glass beads mixed with silver base metal and a different shade of those lampwork beads.

Faux "Garnets" by Sue Beads

I had Sue from Sue Beads make me these lovely "garnet" beads. I wanted these so I could try to make something for the January publication of Bead Trends for the Birthstone section. I made 3 sets of earrings and here are two of the sets. If you read between the lines you may have already figured out why there is no third set posted up.


This first pair has genuine garnets at the top and bottom as well as these pewter bead caps. They are hung from sterling silver hooks.
I went all out for the second pair. I used Platinum ear wires and I wire wrapped the little fresh water pearls onto Platinum ball head pins. I added another pearl at the top of the dangle and the bead caps are silver plated.

Holidays!!!

So today we leave on holidays. This is the first holiday we have taken in about 4 years. It should be interesting, the grand-parents are taking us and most of the family will be coming and going for the better part of a week. In the meantime I am setting up automatic posts and if everything goes as planned you will have something to look at about every 2 to 3 days.

Today I am posting a wire wrapped necklace that I made a week or so ago. I mixed quite a few different kinds of beads and put them in a somewhat random pattern that I think turned out quite well. I can tell you for sure that there is 2 kinds of fresh water pearls, pink marble, ruby quartz, blue crazy lace agate and I think Aventurine. I love the mix of colours in this one, it was not my usual mix which is nice, since I like to challenge myself now and again.

Perfect Earrings

I don't need to tell you how much I love Vintaj products. They have a little something to them that is just wonderful. These pieces are no exception. The texture and swirl and old time feel, make these gorgeous pieces classics. I added some wire wrapped burgundy pearls to the swirled pieces and put them on an earhook. They are so elegant and classy, I would wear them everywhere!

"Linked"

I wanted to see if I would get the same effect trying different colours in similar earrings. I did the first in all pink and the second with 2 pink and 1 green. I love these links and have sold everything I have made using them, As soon as I run out though that will be it I think. Time to move on to something else.

Result: I prefer one colour to a mixed colour set. The pink are just so much softer and delicate. The pink and green is still fine but there just seems to be something missing. I love dyed pearls, having such a variety of colours to choose from is wonderful. I will have a great many new "pearl" earrings to show you in the coming weeks as I get ready for my fall shows. I am already booked for the first two weekends in November with the possibility of the other two as well.

I will be making a massive amount of inventory right now to compensate for the lack of time I will have once the shows start.

I am sure many of you know what I am speaking of

Watch This!!

I wanted to try making a watch, just to see if it would be something I would want to wear myself. These are my kind of watches. Stretch bracelet, stays a little loose on the wrist, I can pretty much guarantee that I won't get a rash that way. Metal Allergies suck!! You miss out on a lot of fun jewelry.

I used double holed metal links and ice flake Quartz. Not too complicated, Magic Stretch in two rows held together by the double links.

I think I may try a few more of these.

Jade Necklace

I made this necklace with large chunks of Jade. Each large nugget is wire wrapped to the next and completed with a decorative hook. That is really all I can say, it was time consuming but I really like the way it turned out. And yes I know my picture is sideways. I just could not be bothered to flip it once it was loaded up. I think it still looks nice so does it matter?
