Wired New Creations!

I love wire wrapping in Copper, I love aging it to a beautiful vintage finish! This necklace turned out exactly how I like things to work! The mix of dark beads is a lovely contrast to the paler pendant and Everything just flows!

 Another piece I am really please with other than my silly wire! I thought I had gotten rid of all my coated copper wire, well, when I dipped it into the Liver of Sulfur bath I found out that I had not actually gotten rid of all of it! Darn it!! Thank goodness the whole necklace is made of the same wire, it looks like it was meant to be this way!

 It did not turn out that way for this necklace, so tell me honestly, can I get away with leaving it like this? I can't decide. I just know that I have no way of getting rid of the coating...

I am very pleased with this necklace, I just wish the wire would have darkened. I still think it would have looked so much better! Too late now! At least that wire got used up! Nothing left of it now! 
I will be working on magazine publications, new charms and Ocean inspired jewelry this week, lots of new things coming up on the horizon! Come again next week for the next post!!

Lots going on!!

Believe me! It's lack of desire that keeps me away, it's always lack of time! Soooo much going on right now and it's truly fantastic!!
I have been working on hard on keeping Earrings Everyday going while Heather Powers was on the amazing Bead Cruise she hosts every year! I have had posts to do for the Art Bead Scene blog. I am getting a bunch of publications ready for Bead Design Studio, so keep an eye out this year for me, I will be popping up in as many places as I can get my little hands on! I am reaching some serious goals already this year and it is certainly keeping me motivated! 

I have so many new things I am working on, but this week I am getting my studio ready for photos! I might have to hire out the photography though, not sure I can pull off taking pics in a small space like that with much success! You will get your first peak into my tiny world on "Studio Saturday" on the ABS Blog on Saturday March 24th so stay tuned for that!! 5th Bead Soup Blog Hop

The day is finally here! Reveal day for the Bead Soup blog hop! I am so excited to see what my partner made with the soup I sent her, but for now, it's time to have a peak at what I made with what she sent me!! The top photo includes the Focal, so I thought I would start with that one. I tried so many ways to work with the bead and finally decided that a simple and long pendant on a simple hoop, was the way to go.

 I made some earrings to match! I love how long they are and how much the beautiful handmade beaded beads that Lori Finney sent me sparkle at every turn! I have never worked with beaded beads, and these were an amazing place to start!

 Here is the dreamy set all together! Since I don't normally work with anything in silver/silvertones any more, I may have to keep this set! So pretty!

 Here is what I made with the clasp. Just a simple but fun wire wrapped bracelet. Everything in this bracelet including the wire was sent by my partner. If you look carefully, you will see that the clasp has writing on it! Very cool!

 I started by making these earrings first. These were the first things in the soup that really spoke to me! They just spoke earrings! Love the bell like quality of them and they match the bracelet!

 I could not resist attempting some asymmetrical  earrings with these beads. They also match the bracelet. I love the way these all sparkle! I am only guessing, but I believe that these are also some of Lori's beaded beads :)
I still have a few beads left and I think I have an idea on how to use them. We will see what I can whip up! 
I was issued a challenge on using the pretty squares of fabric that all these beads came wrapped in, but I unfortunately ran out of time. I was also a little stumped! I brainstormed and still could not think of a way to use it that would not be sewn since I can't sew! Hopefully in time I will think of something!

Working out for the Best!!

 

Between trying to enjoy working and trying to make enough money to help support my family I have been discovering interesting things about myself. When I am tired or stressed I am more creative! Why? Who knows! Certainly not convenient! lol

I have also discovered, that I have more strength than I thought and that I am lucky! It took me a long time to see that!

 I really just want to have fun with what I do, all the while balancing it with my family life! It's important, after all, they are the ones I do this for! {most of the time}

Having James in school for the last 3 and a half years was hard. Having him get laid off in January 2011 was even harder! It has been a tumultuous year, but I am finally seeing the sun coming over the horizon! James finished his degree in December. He was diligently looking for a job as a probation officer and applied in some pretty far off places! I was not looking forward to the prospect of moving.

 Well, prayer and support and amazing references were a big help! James officially starts his new job as a probation officer on March 1st! The best part? It's right here in Calgary!! We won't have to move anywhere! What a blessing! Exactly what we prayed for!

 In the meantime, I have reached a couple of fantastic goals! My supply shop has reached 1000 sales! Thank you all! Without you it would not have been possible! So head on over and take advantage of my coupon,{THANKYOU} it will be up a little while longer as a thank you.

 I am hoping to take pics today and list some new things, pictured here. The light is terrible right now, I think we are about to get a storm, the sky is very dark. Might not be any new pics today.

 Lots to look at a drool over though, so keep your eyes open for them to show up in my shop this week :)

Another goal I reached was the acceptance in another publication that I have not previously been in! That has been a huge one for me, something I wanted to reach last year but did not manage. I will update you on that another time.
